Guide to ordering a custom surfboard
Like waves we come in different shapes and sizes. I believe that a board that suits your body, strength, skills, goals, surf conditions, and style will help you to explore your surfing. Here is our “guide to ordering a custom surfboard”
Step 1: What can this new board do for me?
It doesn’t matter if this is going to be your first board or the missing link in your quiver. Before you pick a shape and get hung up on deciding between a 7’0” and 7’2”. Answer this simple question: What can this new board do for me?
For example:
My new board needs to help me with walking to the nose more stable and making noserides
My new board needs to help me with fast maneuvers on the wave but also needs to help me catching as many waves as possible
My new board needs to help me with shortboarding small waves
My new board needs to help me transitioning from a softtop, surf down the line with stability and do some turns
My new board needs to help me generate speed without pumping and I want to be able to stand in trim.
Tip: Try as many different boards as you can, ask your friends to swap boards in the water. Don’t be afraid to try boards you mind says are too small, too big, heavy or wide. You might discover something new here! This will help you to build reference of what boards are doing and will make it easier to determine which board is right for you.

Step 2: Talk to your shaper

| How long does it take for my board to be finished? | In general it takes 2-6 weeks for your board to be finished. This depends on how busy we are and if the right blanks are in stock. |
| Can I order a set of fins, boardbag and leash to go with my custom board | Yes. We can offer you shaper recommended fins and accessories to make you board surf ready! |
| What is the price of a custom board | Fishes and shortboards 700-800. Midlengths 800-900. Longboards 1200-1400. |
| Do I have to choose one of your board models from the models page? | They are just there to get inspired. A custom is a custom. So we can make you anything. |
| Why is it so pricey? | We are honest about our boards. Staying away from mass producing strategies and their environmental and social consequences. We make you a board that will last long. If you divide the price of the board by the number of sessions you'll have on it, it will be cheaper then a mass produced board. |
| Do you make polyester or epoxy boards? | We can do both modern lightweigth epoxy constructions or classic polyester contructions. Or a mix of both worlds: epoxy over PU. |

Step 3: Write it down
To ensure you get the custom board you want we'll write it down on the ‘order form'. And hand you a copy. The order form goes in our order book in the workshop. We take a 50% deposit and start building your handmade custom board.
